The Critic

Jimmy Erskine is the most feared theatre critic of the age. He lives as flamboyantly as he writes and takes pleasure in savagely taking down any actor who fails to meet his standards. When the owner of the Daily Chronicle dies, and his son takes over, Jimmy quickly finds himself at odds with his new boss and his position under threat. In an attempt to preserve the power and influence he holds so sacred, Jimmy strikes a Faustian pact with a struggling actress, entangling them and the boss in a thrilling but deadly web of desire, blackmail, and betrayal.

Carmilla

Spectre

After the sudden death of his wife, Tomás, a successful elderly writer who has been out of Spain during the last forty years, unexpectedly receives an old tarot card which seems to have for him a disturbing meaning, so he decides to return to the small village where he grew up.

Tarot

Characters discover a tarot card. They either choose to believe or ignore the tarot cards that supposedly predict the future, but no one knows how the story will end. Soon after, they experience extreme horrors, that are exactly the opposite of what the tarot cards foretold.

Night Tide

A young sailor falls in love with a mysterious woman performing as a mermaid on the local pier. As they become entwined, he comes to suspect the woman might be a real mermaid who lures men to a watery death during the full moon. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in partnership with The Film Foundation in 2007.

Young Woman

Fan-made parody project about the role of Young Woman, a very small role from the play "People Places and Things" by Duncan McMillan. This parody shows the past of the anonymous "Young Woman", and her actions that overlap with the events from the original play, while also revealing the relations she has with specific people in the rehabilitation centre that Emma stays in.

A Time to Kill

A man and a woman are poisoned. The woman dies, but the man survives. The finger of blame begins to point at the man. A policeman and a newspaper journalist pursue the truth.

The Theatre

Taro

Short film version of the app – loosely based on tarot – the maker developed as a graduation project. Barbie dolls and Lego versions of Bert and Ernie play the lead roles. Instagram filters give them all sorts of layers, emotions, and identities. The game enables players to discover their life’s goal.

Who Said Macbeth

Although the past two years have been challenging for the Theatre industry, they also showed its incredible strength and resilience. Through interviews with West End performers and creatives, this documentary outlines the difficulties presented to our industry over the course of the pandemic, as well as highlighting changes - both positive and negative - that have come from it. An emotional reflection on a battle it was worth fighting for. All profits will be going to 'Acting for Others', an organisation that provides support to all theatre workers through 14 member charities.
